The SGCruises planning collection

Understand your cruise cost before you book.

A useful cruise budget includes the fare, required charges and the extras you choose. Here is how to compare the complete holiday cost.

At a glance

To compare cruise costs, use the whole-party fare for the same sailing and cabin, add any required charges not already included, then budget for optional extras and travel to the terminal. Count each charge once and check when it is paid.

Start with the fare basis

Confirm whether the price is per person or per cabin and the occupancy it assumes. A fare based on two adults sharing does not automatically apply to a solo traveller, a third guest or a family. Ask for the exact total for your guest mix.

Separate required charges from optional spending

Check which taxes, port charges, service charges and surcharges apply to the specific offer. Some may be included in the quote and others collected separately. Optional spending can include drinks, internet, speciality dining, excursions and personal purchases; only budget for what you expect to use.

Check the payment schedule

A deposit is a payment towards a booking, not necessarily the full cruise price. Note the balance deadline and the conditions for changing or cancelling. Keep a copy of the quote and the agreed terms so you can reconcile later payments.

Use the estimate as a planning tool

The calculator below adds amounts that you enter in Singapore dollars. It does not search fares, assess an offer or confirm a payable total. Enter only charges that are not already included in your starting fare, then compare the result with the supplier’s final quote.

Questions before you book

Are gratuities included in the headline price?

It depends on the cruise line and fare. Check the offer’s conditions and ask whether service charges are included, prepaid or collected onboard.

Does a deposit mean the cruise is paid in full?

Usually a deposit is part of a payment schedule. Read the booking confirmation for the outstanding balance and due date. Your specific terms determine the payment obligations.

Can I use the calculator as a quotation?

No. It is a simple arithmetic planner using your own inputs. Only the confirmed booking quotation establishes your payable amount and conditions.
